Pop. 1,611. In East Luther T.,Dufferin C., on the Grand R. and C. Rd. 25, 20 km SW of Orangeville.
The first settlers, in 1836, were Richard Joice, Samuel Stuckey, and Richard Ponsford.
The place was first known as Luther and kept that name when the post office opened in 1860.
It was also known locally as Little Toronto after the Grey and Bruce Railroad line reached the community in 1871. In 1883, villagers changed the name to Grand Valley.
