  • Anyone for a dairy delivery? Walling’s Dairy was a local fixture in Haliburton for decades. This pic shows Stephen Walling, who worked alongside his brother, Lester, and father, Samuel. His grandfather, Reuben, first came to the area to farm in the 1870s. (Haliburton Museum)
  • Donald, ON. Originally operated as the Wood Products Company of Canada and then as Standard Chemical, the works produced such products as charcoal and wood alcohol.
  • Most Haliburton postcards highlight summer views, but this one - with its rather dramatic caption - is a winter view, posted in 1908. Though there are many easily identifiable landmarks, it's that big open field, which now houses the arena, that really stands out!
