Pop. 117. In Oxford C. on C. Rd. 28, 22 km. NW of Woodstock. The community was frrst known as Springfield.
In 1854 it was renamed Harrington West by Sir Francis Hincks, the Reform member for Oxford in the Legislative Assembly and co-premier of the province of Canada.
Hincks renamed the place after county warden John Harrington.
