Description From Owner:

Pop. 1,187. In Hay T., Huron C., on Hwy 4 and C. Rd. 83, 58 km N of London. Brothers George and James Petty from Hensall in Yorkshire, England, founded the place they called Hensall, in 1851.
They attracted the Huron and Bruce Railway to the community by offering free land for a station and yard, and they built a pork packing plant which was ready to operate when the railroad arrived.
