Description From Owner:
- Pop. 162. In Dufferin C. on C. Rd. 21, 18 km N of Shelburne. The place was settled in the 1840s by men from Yorkshire, England, who bought land from a Mr. Wood of Toronto.
- The place was first called Rosewood after Wood's last name and his wife's first name, but that was turned down by the post office because it was too similar to other names in use.
- In 1865 the residents proposed the name Honeywood which was accepted by postal authorities.
