Pop. 140. In Snowdon T., Haliburton C. at the S end of Kashagawigamog L. and C. Rd. 18, 54 km SE of Bracebridge.
For a time this place was called Austin's Narrows after Willett Casey Austin who settled briefly in 1862.
It was later called Egypt, Lochlin Settlement, Ingoldsby Station, Ingoldsby Settlement and became Ingoldsby in 1868 when the post office opened. The community is believed to be named after a place in Lincolnshire, England.
