Description From Owner:

Pop. 71. In Lanark C. on the Mississippi R. and Hwy 7,17 km. N of Perth. Capt. Noah Freer, a veteran of the War of 1812 received a land grant here and for a time the place was known as Freer's Mills.
He sold his holdings to James Ennis who built the first mill in 1824 and the place then became known as Ennisville.
When the post office opened in 1851 a clerical error resulted in the community being called Innisville. The error was never corrected.
