Pop. 691. In Gladstone T., Algoma Dist., on the Mississagi R. and Hwys 17 & 546, 26 km. NW of Blind R., about 112 km E of Sault Ste. Marie.
When the post office was established in 1886 the name requested by residents was Tally Ho.
This was rejected by the post office, which called the place Iron Bridge because the ftrst non-wooden bridge in the area had just been built across the Mississagi R. The iron bridge was dismantled, sold, and replaced by a cement bridge in 1949.
