Pop. 3,970. In the Dist. of Kenora, between Hwys 17 & 17 A, 3 km NE of Kenora.
The townships of Jaffray and Melick were amalgamated as a single township in 1908 and became a town in 1988.
Jaffray was named after Sen. Robert Jaffray, president ofthe Toronto Globe newspaper. Melick was named after the parish of Meelick in County Mayo, Ireland.
