Description From Owner:
- Pop. 180. In Cochrane Dist. on Hwy 583, 16 km SW of Hearst. The community was founded between 1908 and 1912 and became a meeting place for First Nations Peoples engaged in the fur trade.
- The settlement is named after the fIrst parish priest, Father Isaac Jogues (1607-1646). Jogues worked among the Hurons and Iroquois and was murdered in what is now the Mohawk Valley of New York State. In 1930 he was canonized.
