Pop. 163. In Windham T., NorfoIk C. On C. Rd. 9,27km NW of Simcoe.
The community was named in 1877 after a shrine at La Salette-Fallavaux near Grenoble, France, where an apparition of the Virgin Mary was reportedly seen, resulting in one of her titles becoming Our Lady of La Salette.

Hi I am interested in La Sallette, because my paternal great grandfather Perrault D. MacGregor was a station master here around 1882. This is the last place where we could locate him. After that he disappeared, off the radar screen.In 1886 his wife Daphne Pierce MacGregor died and left two children, Caroline Louise (b1883) and Frances Mary (b1885) who then began living with their grandmother Maria Durham Pierce in Chippawa.judyarcher@rogers.com
