- Pop. 517. In Eastnor T., Bruce C., on Whippoorwill Bay off Georgian Bay, 5 km. E of Hwy 6 on C. Rds. 9 & 29, 35 km. NW of Wiarton.
- George Moore, Richard Tackaberry, and John Richardson were among the first settlers, in 1871.
- The place was first known as Point Hangcliffe and later took its name from the same steep cliff across the bay on which a rock formation resembling the head of a lion may be seen from certain angles.
- Lion's Head is on the Bruce Trail; its sandy beach, and protected harbour make it a busy tourist centre in summer.
