Pop. 557. In Elizabethtown T., United Cs. of Leeds and Grenville on C. Rds. 27 and 46,9 km. W of Brockville.
The place was first named Coleman's Corners after early settler Abel Coleman.
It was later named after Lynn, MA, or from the Welsh or Scottish word 'Iyn' meaning 'pool' or 'cascade' as in those near the community's prominent mills.
