- Pop. 500. InFlamborough T., Reg. Mun. of Hamilton-Wentworth on C. Rds. 99 & 299, 23 km. W of Hamilton.
- Barnabus Howard and Isaac Blasdell were among the first to build here in the mid-1830s. In the early 1840s, Benony VanSickle built a sawmill and for a time the place was called VanSickle.
- When the post office was established in 1851, Jeremiah Bishop proposed the name Lynden after a town in Vermont.
- Silas Bishop, a native who measured 7'-6' (228.6 cm) was a giant with the Barnum Circus and Steve Ihnot, a movie actor, also lived here.
