Description From Owner:

Pop. 1,110. In Carrick T., Bruce C., on Otter Cr. on Hwy 9, and C. Rds. 24 & 28, 9 km S of Walkerton.
The first settler, Samuel Merner, had the area surveyed in 1867, and the village was known briefly as Mernersville.
The following year, when the post office was established, the place was named Mildmay after Mildmay Park in London, England.
