Pop. 132. In Mountain T., United Cs. of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry on C. Rd. 1, 11 km. E of Kemptville and Hwy 416, 41 km. SE of Ottawa.
The community was first called Hickey, but in 1888 took its name from the T. which was named in 1798 for the Rt. Rev. Jacob Mountain (1750-1825), first Anglican Bishop of Quebec.

Looking for information on ancestor Thomas Mills who reportedly lived In Mountain approximately around 1823 to1834. Had 2 children born while living in the area. He lived in the US before and after thus time. We are wondering if he moved to the area to work on building thee rideau canal.
