Pop. 114. In Perth C. on C. Rd. 72, 27 km. NE of Stratford. The community is 4.5 km. NW of present-day Millbank and was first called Millbank Station when the Stratford and Huron Railway was built between Stratford and Palmerston in 1873.
. In 1881, Alex Murray renamed the community Newton after the physicist and mathematician Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727.)
