- In Ops T., Victoria C. on Hwy 7,10 km. SE of Lindsay.
- When the Midland Railway arrived at this settlement in 1856 the place was named Kelly's Crossing, after Francis Kelly who ran a tavern called the Stone Inn.
- In 1871 a post office was established here and named after Thomas Rea from County Fermanagh, Ireland, who had settled here in the early 1820s.
