Description From Owner:

Pop. 150. In the Reg. Mun. of Hamilton-Wentworth on Hwy 8, 16 km. NW of Dundas. Lemuel Lamb was the first settler and the community that developed was called Lambsville.
When the post office was to be established in 1851, many residents wanted to keep the name to honour Mr. Lamb.
Bu t Mr s. William Barlow, wife of the Beverly T. clerk and first postmaster proposed the name Rockton to reflect the area's topography.
