Pop. 4. In Hutchinson T., Rainy River Dist. on Sapawe L. and Hwy 623,5 km N ofHwy 11, 149 km. NW of Thunder Bay.
First known as Iron Spur, the name was changed when the post office opened in 1943. The name derives from the Ojibwa 'sabawi,' meaning drowned, because a young squaw drowned there.
