Pop. 71. In Manitoulin Dist. on Manitoulin I. on the W coast of BayfIeld Sound off the North Channel off Lake Huron, 32 km W of Gore Bay.
The place was fIrst called Morrisville, but was changed in 1923 when the post office moved to the Sheshegwaning Indian Reserve. The meaning of the First Nations Peoples word is not known.
