- Pop. 384. In Kenora Dist. on Longpoint I. in Lake of the Woods and Hwy 71, just S of Sioux Narrows Provincial Park, 80 km. SE of Kenora.
- The post office of Sioux Narrows was established in 1938. The name recalls a battle between the Sioux and Ojibwa Indians.
- At Sioux Narrows, Hwy 71 is carried over the longest single-span wooden bridge in the world.
- The 32-metre (105 ft) central spans are of Douglas fir from British Columbia whose age predates the European settlement of Canada.
- When it was built in 1935 the 64-metre-Iong (210ft) bridge was designed to last 40 years and carry a maximum load of 18 tons (18.28 tonnes).
- Tests conducted in 1980 found the timbers to be as sound as when the bridge was built, and capable of carrying loads up to 110 tons (111.76 tonnes).
