Description From Owner:
- Pop. 180. In King T., York C. on C. Rd. 53, 3 km. W of Aurora. First known as Coates' Corners and then Hainstock's Corners, the community got its present name in 1850.
- In that year, Sam Thompson deeded a plot of land on which a church was to built. So much snow got packed into the holes in timbers that were to be pegged, that construction had to be delayed until a thaw melted the snow.
- The church was painted white and called the 'Snowball Church.'
