- Pop. 796. In Bruce and Kincardine Ts., Bruce C., on Hwy 21 and C. Rd. 15, 67 km. NE of Goderich.
- The first settler was Timothy Allan, who arrived in 1850. When a post office was established in 1860, the residents, who were of predominantly Scottish stock, chose the name St. Andrews .
- A place of that name already existed in Ontario, so the post office was renamed Tiverton after a place in Devon, England. In 1897 the village was swept by a disastrous fire, which destroyed most of its businesses.
