- Pop. 246. In Seymour T., Northumberland C. on the Trent and C. Rds. 30 & 42, 39 km NE of Peterborough.
- The place was first called The Narrows because it was located at the narrowest stretch of the Trent R. for many miles in both directions.
- The river, named after the River Trent in central England at this point could often be crossed on foot. In 1879 it was named Trent Bridge.
