- Pop. 206. In Chatham T., Kent C., on the Sydenham R. 1 km S of C. Rd. 78, 9 km E of Wallaceburg. The community was fIrst called Starkweather's Corners, named after a hotel at the main corner.
- In 1950 the name was changed to Tupperville and approved by the Canadian Board of Geographic Names.
- The community was likely named after Sir Charles Tupper (1821-1915), prime minister of Canada for 10 weeks in 1896.
