- Pop. 76. In Kent C. on C. Rd. 21,9 km. NW of Thamesville. Before being named Wabash in 1885, this community was called Wellington.
- The place name is believed to have been given to honour Ojibwa Chief Peter Wabash.
- He lived on Christian Island in Georgian Bay during the summer and in Collingwood T., Grey C. in the winter and was reported to have been more than 100 years old when he died.
