Description From Owner:

Pop. 100. In Reg. Mun. of Haldimand-Norfolk on C. Rds. 3 & 10, 16 km SW of Simcoe.
Thomas Welch, a native of Maryland, settled here about 1800 and became registrar of deeds for Norfolk County.
His son changed the spelling of their names to Walsh and when the post office was established m 1865, they called the community after themselves.
