- Pop. 49. In Otonabee T., Peterborough C., on the Indian R. and C. Rds. 4 & 38, 20 km NE of Peterborough.
- The place was settled in 1834 by Thomas Hartwell and was known for a time as Dummer's Mills. The mills were owned by Zacceus Burnham of Cobourg and managed by his cousin, Thomas George Choate, after whom the place was briefly called Choate's Mills.
- In 1839 Thomas Choate applied for the frrst post office and named the community Warsaw after Warsaw NY, near Buffalo, where he had once lived.
