- Pop. 6,563. Part of the City of London, on the Thames R. and Hwys 4 & 401. The first settler was Archibald McMillan in 1812, when the North Talbot Rd. was a blazed trail.
- A survey was carried out by Col. Mahlon Burwell and completed in 1820 by Col. Bostwick.
- Westminster, first called Byron, is named after the township in which it was formerly located.
- The township was named in 1798 for the English city, site of Britain's Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral.
