Pop. 351. In McNab T., Renfrew C., on the NE shore of White Lake and Waba Cr. and C. Rds. 2 & 52, 13 km SW of Amprior.
The post office was established as White Lake in 1848. The name, shown on some old maps as Wabalac, may have come from the Algonquin word waba, for 'white' and the French lac for 'lake.'
