- Pop. 53. In Canborough T., Reg. Mun. of Haldimand-Norfolk on Oswego Cr. and Hwy. 3 and C. Rds. 2, 14 & 63,18 km. NE of Cayuga.
- In 1800, Pennsylvania Quaker Benjamin Canby settled at Niagara-on-the-Lake, built a grist mill and bought 19,000 acres of land which had been granted to Capt. John Dochstader, a veteran of Butler's Rangers.
- The place took its name from the T. It was a stagecoach stop on the Talbot Road and by 1840 had three hotels.
