- The place was likely named by the Partridge family, early pioneers who recalled 'Crown Hill,' a hill above the city of Plymouth in England.
- This hill is part of a range of small hills that stretches for a few miles across Oro T.
- Charles Drury, descendant of one ofthe pioneer families became the first to head Ontario's Department of Agriculture and Hon. E. C. Drury was the first farmer to become premier, serving from 1919-1923.
