Description From Owner:
- In Dawn T., Lambton C. on C. Rd. 21, 5 km S of Oil Springs. The hamlet dates to 1887 when Melvin Lotteridge built a sawmill, financed by the Eby brothers of London.
- The mill failed and the Ebys took it over, enlarged it and so Id itto Sutherland and Innis Co. of Chatham which ran it for many years. The post office opened in 1892, named for the Eby brothers.
