In Tilbury East T., Kent C., on C. Rd. 7, 19 km SW of Chatham. The place developed around a station of the Canada Southern Railway in the late 1800s and was likely named after pioneer farmer David Fletcher.

We always thought it was named for the settler, John Fletcher.
