In Chandos T, Peterborough C. on the Crowe R. and C. Rds. 504 & 620, 29 km S of Bancroft.
On a 1905 map the place is shown as Purdyville after S. L. Purdy who owned a lumber mill. Later the community was called Post Settlement for eight families by that name living there.
