- In Rainham T., part of the Town of Haldimand in Haldimand-Norfolk Reg., 18 km SE of Dunnville.
- The T. was named in 1792 for Raynham in North Norfolk, England. That was the birthplace of Charles Townshend, 2nd Viscount Townshend (1675-1738). His nickname Was 'Turnip Townshend' because he developed improvements in farming methods.
- He was a brother-in-law of Sir Robert Walpole (1676-1745), British prime minister 1721-42 and was secretary of foreign affairs 1714-16 and 1721-30.
