Pop. 35. In Sunnidale T., Simcoe C. on Hwy. 26 and C. Rd. 10,21 km SE of Collingwood.
The place takes its name from the T. believed named after a member of Lt.-Gov. Peregrine Maitland's staff who got lost in the woods.
When the man reached a shanty in a 'sunny dale,' he was grateful for his deliverance. In 1994 the Ts. of Sunnidale and Nottawasaga, Town of Stayner and Village of Creemore amalgamated to form the municipal T. of Clearview.
