- Organic Fruit and Vegetables
- Established in 1969, the Moses family farm provided fresh vegetables for local residents and family.
- In 2013, the oldest son William moved back from Alberta with his partner Faith, to re-establish the family farm under the name RoJu Gardens (named after his parents; Roger and June).
- Truly a family affair, brothers, sister, sons, nephews, daughter and grandson have all pitched in with clearing, planting and harvesting our crops.
- This seven and a half acre farm backs onto Wooler townsite and Dead Creek. It is located at #63, county road 5 in Wooler.
- Currently offering a wide variety of fresh vegetables and herbs, RoJu Gardens is establishing fruit trees and asparagus fields for future inventory.
- Using heirloom seed (no GMOs), we are practitioners of non-certified organic gardening, using crop rotation, companion planting, trap cropping, green manure and composting.
- Our crops are pollinated by on-site hives, with bees provided by Ivyridge Honey Farm of Consecon.
- Available this year will be beets, carrots, beans, broccoli, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, peppers, lettuce, cucumbers, many melons, squash (from acorn to zucchini), a variety of fresh herbs, fresh-cut flowers and our first large crop of garlic.
- For fellow gardeners, we also offer one-year old Asparagus crowns, Gogi berry seedlings and Sea Buckthorn seedlings. Also for sale are Basswood carving blocks, from 12” to 7’ long and Cedar fence rails in 8’ to 16’ lengths.
- We also create farm-based baked goods and some homemade crafts. By fall, a variety of canned goods will also be made available. Our products can be purchased at the farm gate.
