We do most of our shopping in this store and like it but if i wanted to bag my groceries Id go to no frills , there are lots of great tellers the ones that have been in the store for a long time are great but a few of the new ones totally frustrate me when they stand and watch me bag with no other customers at their till , maybe a tutorial on checkout etiquette is needed update : I am happy to report a huge improvement at the checkout that I’m quite sure other patrons will appreciate as much as i do
Captains table was here in the mid 80's when l first came up this way. The original owners passed the business down to their kids and the tradition continues. They are best known for their fish and chips but they have a full menu from breakfast through dinner. I have noticed that the Fish & chips are not nearly as good as they used to be. Very inconsistent in the Batter. One order weeks ago was crumbly and just today l ordered Haddock & Chips. The fish itself was good but again the Batter was just awful. I think they've turned to using Pancake Batter for the fish and chips. It was not crispy but doughy on the inside and thick. Three times and different everytime. And not in A good way. They do have a lot of good meals but lll never order Fish& chips from there again!!
Went in for our first time tonight and I can't speak highly enough about this place. We came on a quiet snowy day midweek for our sons birthday. The staff happily made sure our son had a great time, turned on the party lights for him, played some great music.
Sounds like the current owner and staff took over in the last few months, please go support them, this place is a gem.
After almost 4 years of watching farriers struggle to trim Guinness's hooves, I finally relented and built him some stocks! First successful use this morning, with the additional aid of some good drugs. Very pleased with how it went! Ben Dowling did a great job. I designed them based on lots of internet research, using leftover floorboards from the barn renovation.
