thank you for posting info about Richards Landing! There’s so much to explore on all of St Joseph Island!
Its history comes alive not only at the multi building museum, but Google the St Joseph Island Historical Society and download their map ! They have installed signage at significant spots around “ the island”
I am a true Islander…born in the farm house where I still live…my favourite signs are, one at Sailors Encampment( the shipping channel) and another at a farmstead which is the farm in all of Ontario at the highest elevation! ENJOY!
My Husbands GG grandfather was Henri Beaulieu.
We have two sons, one who has carried on the agrarian roots and farms! Unfortunately the land that the Hanmer homestead was on is not fertile and was slowly sold by future generations!
So our son farms on my family farm!
Our son was fortunate to have the farming genes as did his dad!
My husband brought with him the love of the potatoe and we had to plant 200 pounds just to see them grow, as it’s way more than a family of four can consume! He also was intrigued by maple syrup having only one producer in the Sudbury area, so got right busy tapping trees every spring here on our farm!
Thank you for posting information about the founding fathers of Hanmer!
I have taken my Riley,Golendoodle here twice. I just got to say these people are the best. I like how they ask a lot of question on how I want Riley groomed. I have seen so many Goldendoodle basically right down to the skin. I would scream if Riley looked like that. When I pick Riley up he is done perfectly. These people really care what they do and it shows. I would never take him anywhere else. Thank you so much.
Went to see Jacob for some rough lumber. I was look after right away. I needed a 2x8, but he didn’t have one. Jacob asked his son to cut one. I have always had an excellent experience dealing with Jacob for a few visits and will continue. Keep up the great service Jacob.
