Pop. 137. In Bruce C., on Stokes Bay of Lake Huron, 44 km.SE of Tobermory.
The bay is believed to have been named for Capt. John Storke the first white man to have sailed into the bay.
The 'r' was inadvertently omitted from the cancellation hammer sent by the postal inspector and the error was never corrected.
